Let’s talk about how the 5 benefits of self care can change how you feel and how much you accomplish on the daily basis by just taking care of you. 

Expressing Emoceans

The truth is that by letting the tears flow, you are letting out what hurts while making more room in your heart for positive thoughts and feelings.

Expressing your emoceans is the best way to open your heart chakra and allow the energy to flow. Harboring negative emoceans will keep them stagnant within you and create other problems for you mentally, physically, and emotionally such as:

  • Stress
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Depression
  • Stomach Ulcers
  • Poor Decision Making
  • Suppressed Immune System

Self care is all about finding ways to express your emoceans in a positive way so that you can process the message that you are suppose to be receiving. Trust me, emoceans don’t arise for the benefit of the other person in the situation, but more so for you to learn and grow as an individual on your own journey.

Building Self-Esteem

What better way is there to encourage positive thoughts about yourself other than self care. By committing to a self care ritual, you are telling yourself that you are worthy of attention and you have the confidence to acknowledge it.

When you have good self-esteem you are able to speak up and snatch that job promotion. You may even find yourself connecting with new friends that you otherwise would have never considered hanging out with and learn that you have many common interest. When you invest your energy back into you, the realization then becomes…

I am beautiful and worthy.

You can now see what’s always been there but all you needed was a little TLC.


Maintaining Health

Have you noticed that being stagnant for too long can make you feel bleh bleh bleh. Haha, I know me too. 

In other words, get up and take action. A healthy body is an active body by whatever means necessary. You have to be the one to compell yourself to maintain your health and that starts with you getting up.

My favorite self care ritual activity on my menu is the dance meditation. 

What? But Shan, meditation is all about sitting still and being quiet. 

Nuh uh!

Meditation is all about setting your intention and projecting it in your mind. My dance meditation is all about showing gratitude to my body even in the midst of me struggling physically. You can find a special playlist to dance to or you can find your own creative way for you to become energy in motion.

Attracting Desires

You are the universe! When you give to self, it’s like giving to a mirror and you become an infinte loop of manifestations.

Self care is the way you remind the universe (you) that you are deserving of everything that you are asking for. Your journey requires you to replenish and reflect on where you are in each moment to better understand what you truly desire. Ritualistically, checking in with self by journaling, meditating, or setting intentions will put into perspective goals that you will begin to attract into your life.

Inspiring Humanity

When you look and feel good, you gain clarity on what life means to you. You know what you want in life and you know what you need to do in order remain on your path. This illuminating vibration is inspiring to everyone around you even when you are unaware of its effects.

When you do your best, so does everyone else.
